chuck is doing a mountain check in the first picture. in the second one, they have just found out that their old arkansas student id's will get them each a 24 dollar discount! chuck is pulling his out in the picture, careful not to lose the top plastic film. his id is barely discernible, and is in two pieces from using it as his house key during law school!if you can't make it to visit us this ski season, visit the site at http://www.redlodgemountain.com/ !
not only do kids ski free, the mountain staff will entertain them! (they even have an arts and crafts daycare) the whole place is so child and family friendly. it has been such a fascinating surprise watching these montana kids on the snow. i have a hard time even walking on the snow, yet a little child in ski boots will breeze past me down a hill. they are so small! you would be shocked to see what they can do on the mountain. when they master the practice hill, one of the mountain staff takes them up the lift and rides down behind them. you can see these adorable little people with large helmets, without poles, doing their "pizza slice" all the way down the regular runs. it is really impressive and inspiring and humbling! and those are the three and four year olds! i don't have the ski vocabulary to explain to you the skill of the 13 year olds that have been skiing for years, the kids that are dropped of at the mountain on saturdays like it is the mountain home racket club.
