wondering who the other kid in the picture is? it is mom! mom is the smurf!!! i love the matching converse with krista's drunken sailor hobo costume! kiley's face is classic!! the only reason she would participate in halloween was for the bag of candy. she was so mature and empathetic, even in kindergarten. my mom and nana spent weekends making her this clown costume! when she arrived to school for the halloween parade, mad and quiet that mom made her dress up, she noticed all of the other clown costumes. she still remembers how guilty she felt in her elaborate handmade costume, while the other little clowns where dressed in things like a red nose and mix matched socks, or puffy hair. she is going to be such a great doctor with such a huge heart. and as crazy and unbelievable as this may sound, we are still coaxing her through life (and med school) with big bags of candy!!

once upon a halloween
