lesson on road rage

today a woman decided to reverse out of a parking lot into two lanes of traffic, one of which was ours. i immediately, having two children in the backseat, panicked! without any sort of censorship, i quickly let out a "hey lady, what are you doing!?!" and from the backseat the relaxed 4 year old said, "hey jami, what is wrong?" i explained to him that her dangerous driving had scared me, that i was worried about her car hitting ours. he listened, assessed the situation, and then responded as calmly as he had asked the first question, "jami, ah, uh, you really shouldn't let her make you so angry. just because she is driving badly, doesn't make it ok for you to get so upset. just be careful, not angry, okay?" more tiny buddhist lessons!!
